about

This is a quite experimental work. Life happened and I took a break from recording EP I. Instead, I wrote and produced this jazzy, somewhat lo fi, somewhat electronic, experimental work. It's a concept album, and while it involves some weird time signatures and groupings here and there, my focus was mostly on sounds and how they tell you a story, rather than doing something progressive and complex.

The main idea is that there is this 30+ years old japanese person sitting at the Eigakan jazz bar, in Tokyo. While there, the smoky atmosphere, the late hour, and maybe some alcohol make him dizzy, and a stream of consciousness starts. His mind wanders between the past (oldish, "stereotypical" japanese sounds) and the present (electronic, deformed sounds), while also having some glimpses of the future, where the distortion and deformation grow bigger and more abstract.
This is both his personal journey (aka the past as innocence lost, the future as inevitable degeneration and unknown) and the journey of Japan from the past to the future. Even if saying this makes the present and the future seem bad, that's not necessairly implied.

You will find a timeline for the story with the download; I suggest you listen to the whole thing first and then you check it out and maybe give it another shot with the timeline. Hopefully you will find that hey, it makes sense. I really did my best with this work, it was a very therapeutic experience for me.

Enjoy

The Bubble Planet Italy

Hey there. My name is Alessandro and I'm a guitar player from Italy. This is the Bandcamp page for my solo project, The Bubble Planet. I play in the "new" instrumental prog guitar style, trying to do it my own way.
My music is up for free, but you can pay any amount you want for the songs. As I'm a working student, every dollar helps, not just with music, but also with everyday life. Thank you.
